John Zadrozny is usually the one handing out the grades, but this teacher deserves an A+ in creativity for transforming his students margin doodles into hilarious masterpieces.
Zadrozny was working as a junior high school science teacher at an all-girls school in Thailand when he established a simple rule with his students - if they drew on their assignments, he would add on to it.
Zadrozny says he has always been a doodler and came up with the idea as a way to break up the monotony of grading papers. He was also looking for a way to break the ice with his students.
"This was a great way for me to have fun with them without it actually impacting my lessons or class time," Zadrozny told ABC via email.
Zadrozny never offered his students an explanation for why he was adding to their doodles. But, he says, eventually they got into it and began to look forward to participating in the collaborative art.
"I'd like to imagine where a student was going with a drawing, and do the exact opposite," Zadrozny told ABC. "My favorite drawings were where I'd take simple things and make them really complex or take something really complex and do something silly to it, like ruin it with a mustache."
Zadrozny has posted many of the doodles to Tumblr and Imgur, where they have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
