NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- President Barack Obama doesn't have much to cheer about with the midterm election results, but he was kicking up his heels with a local singing group while stumping for newly-elected governor Tom Wolf in Philadelphia over the weekend.
Call them, "Brotherly Love." Community activist Charlie Mack discovered the group when they won the talented teen competition during his celebrity weekend.
They performed at the "Get Out the Vote" rally for Governor-elect Wolf Sunday night.
Mack arranged for them to meet the president and they didn't hesitate to ask Mr. Obama if they could sing for him.
"So I was like 'we're a singing group. Can we hit something for you?' He was like 'yeah, you can hit something for me.' So we just hit it," Rell Swag said.
President Obama loved it and they were thrilled for the opportunity.
"My heart dropped when he turned the corner I was like 'OMG, there go the pres. Come on let's get it together.' So we fixed up," Ace of 'Brotherly Love' said. "Only thing that made it weird was if you look to the right of the video, you just see all his body guards."
Some of the guys said President Obama was taller than they thought and much thinner.
King Kahseef says after they performed, the president said, "you guys got a pretty good tune."
Mack, a friend of TV producer Shonda Rhimes, is hoping to get the group a stint on her hit show, Scandal.
And he is emphatic in the group's lyrics, he will not compromise on their respect for women.
"On no level are you gonna be calling them B's and H's and dogs and N-words. We're not gonna do that," said Mack.
