COLLINGDALE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say the deadly fire that was allegedly set by the victim was ruled arson and attempted murder in Collingdale, Pennsylvania.
The victim has been identified by police as 52-year-old David Gullette Third.
The fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. Friday inside a twin home on the 200 block of Collingdale Avenue.
Police responded after reports of someone trapped and a woman screaming for help.
The officers tried to enter the home, but were forced back by the intense flames.
Firefighters soon arrived and quickly went to work battling the blaze.
A female was rescued and, after a search of the house, a man was found dead inside the bedroom.
Police are talking to that woman, a companion of the victim, as they sort out the details.
Sources say there was a domestic dispute at the home before the fire. There is also a history of domestic-related calls to the home.
