Crash involving police cruiser kills 1 outside of Pennsylvania mall

PALMER TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A police cruiser was involved in a serious crash on Monday afternoon in Palmer Township, Northampton County.

The accident happened near the Palmer Park Mall at Park Avenue and Nazareth Road.

The driver of the other car, 83-year-old Julio Flores of Easton, died in the wreck.

The 43-year-old police officer was taken to the hospital to be examined.

The road was closed throughout the day for the investigation.
