Federal authorities join investigation into Berks Co. warehouse fire

BERN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Federal authorities are joining local investigators to pinpoint the cause of a fire that nearly destroyed a business in Berks County overnight.

Firefighters spent approximately five hours battling a multi-alarm fire in a Berks County food distribution warehouse.

The fire started around 8 p.m. Sunday at the Evans Food Distributors building along the 1900 block of Bernville Road.

Officials remained at the business throughout the day Monday to gather clues.

There is no word on how the fire started.
