An Ohio middle school is getting a lot of attention for editing the word "feminist" out of a class photo.
Eighth grader Sophie Thomas wore a black t-shirt, emblazoned with the term for a recent picture day.
But when the teenager saw a copy of the photo last week, she realized her outfit had been digitally altered.
Thomas says the principal, Kendra Young, told her the school edited the word out because some people might find it offensive.
She went on to say a class photo is no place for a controversial statement.
Young has since apologized.
