Open hydrants flood street in Southwest Philadelphia

Police were on the scene on Holstein Avenue after 2 open hydrants sprayed water, threatening flooding.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A pair of open fire hydrants flooded a street in Southwest Philadelphia.



Police were called to Holstein Avenue near South 78th Street at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.



They found two open fire hydrants shooting water across both sides of the four-lane street.



Officers blocked off one side of the street until a fire department crew arrived to shut off the hydrants.



The road was back open by 6:15 a.m.
