Share the Harvest begins

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Gardeners can give back in a healthy way.

The "Share the Harvest" program kicked off this weekend.

Philabundance is asking for donations of excess fruits and veggies.

Dropoff locations are set up at Carousel Gardens in Newtown, and several other locations.

The donations will go to needy families in the Delaware Valley.

Last year, 9,600 pounds of produce was collected.

This summer, Philabundance hopes to hit 10,000.
