Homes evacuated for gas leak in Havertown

HAVERTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A gas leak has prompted officials to evacuate some homes in Havertown.

It happened just after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Police tell Action News a contractor struck a gas line in the 1200 block of Ellston Road.

A limited number of homes were being evacuated as a precaution.

Peco repair crews were enroute to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
