PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Move over Greg Luzinski, there's a new 'Bull' in town.
45 years after earning the nickname 'The Bull,' for hitting towering homeruns, the Phillies have another 'Bull' running around their outfield.
Rookie Odubel Herrera has been called 'The Little Bull' since he was a kid growing up in Venezuela because he was powerful and strong.
"When I was little, my dad started to call me 'el toro, el torito' - the bull," said Herrera.
"It's kinda unique that it's been how many years? Mr. Herrera here comes along and all of a sudden we have the little bull," said Luzinski.
Not only did the Phillies call Herrera by his nickname, but they've taken it a step further.
They actually have a doll - a little bull - that they keeping the dugout during games as a good luck charm.
"Everyone on the team likes the bull," said Herrera with a laugh.
Herrera got the little bull from a Phillies fan.
That's not all, his teammates have also adopted another tradition for El Torito.
Every time he gets a hit, they form bullhorns with their hands as a congratulatory gesture.
So that settles it, there's no more bull-fighting over the nickname.
