OLD CITY (WPVI) -- Eight Philadelphia firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice 40 years ago were remembered Monday morning.
The firefighters were killed while battling the Gulf Oil Refinery fire and explosion that happened on this day back in 1975.
They held a memorial ceremony at the Fireman's Hall Museum in Old City.
Three retired firefighters and one still on the job, who helped battle the massive blaze were at today's ceremony.
Families of the fallen also took part.
