No one injured after gun found in student's backpack at Philly school
The school district said the weapon was never used in a threatening manner toward students or staff, and no one was injured.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police were called to Juniata Park Academy on Wednesday morning after a student brought a gun to school, according to a district spokesperson.

Officials said during an administrative scan of students, one student informed an administrator that they had a weapon.

The student was removed from the building and police were notified.

The school district said the weapon was never used in a threatening manner toward students or staff, and no one was injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
