Study: Avocado a day can decrease your LDL
The diet with avocado was shown to lower the average LDL level by 13 points.

If you like avocados or guacamole, then you'll like this story.

Researchers say eating an avocado a day can decrease your LDL level - that's your bad cholesterol.

Researchers put 45 overweight people on three different diets: low fat without avocado, moderate fat with avocado, and moderate fat without avocado.

The diet with avocado was shown to lower the average LDL level by 13 points.

It also improved total cholesterol.

But there is a caveat.

The study was funded partly by the avocado industry. But also by the National Institutes of Health.

We do know avocados offer a good source of healthy fat.
