HELL'S KITCHEN -- A man has suffered a collapsed lung after being stabbed with a broom piece in front of a Hell's Kitchen wine bar.

The incident happened at 3:15pm Tuesday in front of Crispin's on 10th Avenue and West 52nd Street.

The victim's father, Carlos Muentes, Sr., said that his son, also named Carlos Muentes, was stabbed in the back with the broom piece during a fight. He says his son was in a store, and there were a bunch of kids in there who always hang out and cause trouble. All of a sudden, some of the people from the store started chasing his son and a friend.

An employee of Crispin's says he saw a group of teens chasing the victim up to 9th Avenue. They came back down to 10th Avenue where the victim was then stabbed.

EMS transported 19-year-old Muentes to New York Presbyterian Cornell where he is suffering from a collapsed lung. He is in serious but stable condition.

The father says he saw the whole thing happen. He went over and put pressure on the wound after his son collapsed on the street.

Police are at Crispin's now looking at surveillance camera video.
