1 dead in Cape May County house fire

Officials say one person died in a fast-moving house fire in Middle Township, New Jersey.

The fire broke out around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday on Route 9 South near East Lena Street in Cape May County.

The victim, 71-year-old Stephen G. Grison, was found near the front door. He was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Crews told Action News that the blaze started in the kitchen area of the single family home.

The exact cause of the blaze is under investigation.
