D23 live updates: From movies to theme park rides, here's everything announced at Disney fan event

New details were shared about highly anticipated rides based on two of Disney's hit animated films.

"The Lion King" is getting its first attraction ever. A flume ride is in the works at Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris.

And for the first time, we learned it will be a retelling of Simba's journey and features the debut of Scar as an audio-animatronic figure.

The attraction will showcase Scar's final confrontation with Simba.

Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure, new details were shared about the ride based on "Coco." Here's a first look:

The new Encanto ride at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom will be called Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, and will feature the original actors voicing the Madrigal family.

For the first time ever, Disney Legend Harrison Ford will be the model for an Indiana Jones animatronic.

He'll be the face fans see first at a new attraction coming to Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom, called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.

Walt Disney Imagineering's Brent Strong and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave updates on new Avengers attractions and lands at Saturday's Disney Experiences Showcase.

A massive expansion is coming to Hong Kong Disneyland's Stark Expo.

Shanghai Disneyland will feature the first land anywhere in the world dedicated exclusively to Spider-Man.

At Disney California Adventure, it was announced that the route between Avengers Campus and Cars Land will open soon.

And new details were shared about previously announced attractions.

The first, Avengers Infinity Defense, will include a pre-mission briefing by Brie Larson, Captain Marvel herself. From there, in the ride, it's up to you to assemble the Avengers and stop Thanos.

Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) will be a part of the ride.

Some of the actors will also be featured in the second ride, Stark Flight Lab.

Both will open in 2028.
