Extreme heat warning to go into effect Wednesday for the Philadelphia region as July 4th approaches

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect Wednesday for the entire Philadelphia region, bringing sweltering temperatures just as America 250 and July 4th celebrations get underway.
Temperatures in the city are expected to be around 100 degrees from Wednesday until Saturday.
Officials in Haddonfield, New Jersey have made some schedule changes for their Independence Day events on July 3 due to anticipated high temperatures.
The Independence Day Parade will kick off as scheduled at 10 a.m.
However, due to the extreme heat in the forecast, the Block Party and Drone Show scheduled for 5 p.m. are postponed.
Officials will announce a new date soon.

Changes to holiday events amid dangerous heat
The impending triple-digit temperatures are forcing organizers to adjust festivities for America's 250th birthday in Philadelphia.
Several events are changing holiday plans due to the extreme heat this week
The city has canceled the All-American Block Party scheduled for Thursday. Organizers also delayed the start times for the Red, White and Rose Picnic at Independence Mall to 6 p.m.
The Salute to Service, featuring Queen Latifah, will also be pushed back to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The Independence Illumination Drone Show will also be pushed back to 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Pops on Independence, with headliner Idina Menzel, will now be at 8 p.m. on Friday.
