Because the July 4th parade in Philadelphia was canceled due to the extreme heat, a number of performers who traveled to the city from all over the country were forced to change their plans.

The Pulaski High School Red Raider Marching Band from Wisconsin, and the Sahuarita Mustang Marching Band from Arizona were both set to participate.

The City of Trenton, New Jersey, announced Friday it is postponing its July 4th parade and festival due to the extreme heat in the forecast.

A new date for "Trenton's America 250 Parade & Festival" has not been set.

City officials said that date would be announced as soon as arrangements are finalized.

"We know this celebration is meaningful to our community and to our nation's 250th anniversary," said Mayor W. Reed Gusciora. "While we are disappointed to postpone the event, the health and safety of everyone involved must remain our highest priority."

Updates regarding the rescheduled event will be shared through the City's official website and social media channels.

Residents are encouraged to take appropriate precautions during periods of extreme heat by staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activities during peak afternoon temperatures, and checking on neighbors, older adults, and others who may be especially vulnerable to heat-related illness.

The Philly Pops and Tony Award-winning singer Idina Menzel are performing together Friday night to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America.

Due to extreme heat, the start time of the concert has been pushed back until 8 p.m.

It will take place at Independence National Historic Park at 6th & Market streets.

The patriotic celebration will feature a headlining performance from the multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter and Tony Award-winning performer, as well as live orchestral music, and festive cheer in the heart of the nation's birthplace.

Limited seating is available as well as lawn viewing.

Officials in Marple Township, Pennsylvania announced Thursday they have changed the route for the July 4th parade due to extreme heat in the forecast.

The parade will now begin at Radnor Drive instead of Saint Albans Avenue.

It will conclude at Malin Road.

In addition, the Firecracker 5k will now start at 9 a.m. at Malin Road and West Chester Pike.

Officials remind residents in attendance to be sure to hydrate and plan accordingly,

Temporary road closures and traffic delays along the parade route can also be expected.
