SOMERTON (WPVI) -- A man was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash in Philadelphia's Somerton section.
The crash happened after 11 p.m. Friday at Bustleton Avenue and County Line Road.
Police say the driver was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a dip in the road. The vehicle then went airborne, striking a tree.
The impact caused the vehicle to roll and break up into several pieces.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene. The victim was flown to Hahnemann University Hospital for treatment.
He is undergoing surgery and is listed in critical condition.
The crash is under investigation.
