Michael Jordan is certainly one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but he fouled big time when he misspelled President Barack Obama's name wrong on an autograph.

President Obama through the years.

According to a recent New York Magazine interview, former presidential adviser David Axelrod said he wanted to get Barack Obama something special for his 50th birthday. Seeing how the President had strong roots to Chicago, a signed poster of Michael Jordan would be quite the amazing gift.

"When the president turned 50, I wanted to get him something special ... so I sent it to Jordan to have him sign it for me," Axelrod told New York Magazine.

"In black Sharpie, Jordan scrawled, 'To Barrack: you still owe me dinner. Wishing you well, Michael Jordan.'" I gave it to the president, and he said, 'I can't put this up, he misspelled my name!' So I said, 'Fine, I'll take it.'"

It's unclear whether Jordan's autograph foul was intentional, but seeing how the two have golfed together since the president took office, Jordan probably now knows how to spell his name correctly.
