Burglar steals $7k from mini market in SW Philadelphia

Police are searching for a burglar who stole thousands of dollars from a mini market in Southwest Philadelphia.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a burglar who stole thousands of dollars from a mini market in Southwest Philadelphia last month.

Surveillance video from back on November 15 shows the unknown suspect breaking into Estevez Mini Market on the 2400 block of South 54th Street through an air vent.

Sparks can be seen on surveillance video as the suspect tries several times unsuccessfully to break into an ATM machine using a power tool.

The burglar instead managed to get away with $7,000 in cash and cigarettes from the register area.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 20-years-old with a light to medium complexion. He was wearing a dark colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt with white strings, gray pants, and black shoes.
