Dying mom seeks help finding son taken from crib 30 years ago

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (WPVI) -- A Colorado mom dying of cancer is sharing her final plea to locate her son who was taken from his crib three decades ago.

"Of course, I would like to have him back," Bernice Abeyta, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, told ABC News. "I've always felt very positive that even though it's been 30 years, it would happen.... There's no way we were going to forget him."

Christopher Abeyta was born November 28, 1985.

On the night of July 15, 1986, when he was just 7 months old, Christopher disappeared from his crib. His mother realized the boy was missing the next morning.

Tips came in over the years, but none has led to any breakthroughs in Christopher's case.

Now Abeyta is fighting a rare form of cancer, and her daughter says her one wish is for any person who has information about the disappearance of Christopher to come forward.
