Lifeguards compete in 'Surf and Rescue' competition in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The East Coast's top beach patrols competed Tuesday afternoon for lifeguarding glory.

Participants in the 4th annual Red Bull Surf and Rescue in Atlantic City had to deal with some wild waves.

The competition is open to elite guards in five states in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The contest included swimming, sprinting, a paddleboard relay and back-to-back rescue scenarios.
