NJ lawmakers propose nuclear plant bailout
NJ lawmakers propose nuclear plant bailout. Nydia Han reports during Action News at 6 a.m. on December 16, 2017.

Garden State residents might soon be paying more energy bills to help bail out the state's nuclear power plants.

PSE&G says its two plants, including Hope Creek in Salem County, could shut down within two years due to financial troubles. That could cost the state 1,600 jobs, and up to half of its electricity production.

Lawmakers in Trenton introduced a financial rescue plan yesterday that could cost customers an extra $41 a year, if approved.
