Overturned tanker causes closure of portion of Rte. 55 in Gloucester County

SEWELL, N.J. (WPVI) -- Southbound Route 55 between Route 42 to 322 in Gloucester County shut down due to a tanker truck accident Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on Route 55 at Route 322 in Deptford Township.

The tanker truck overturned in the southbound lanes.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash and is being treated at Cooper University Health Care.

Officials said an unknown amount of fuel spilled, forcing the closure.
