3rd child dies after Tabernacle murder-suicide
TABERNACLE, N.J. (WPVI) -- State Police announced Wednesday that the third child shot in a murder-suicide in Tabernacle, New Jersey has died.
11-year-old Alexander Harriman died this afternoon at Cooper University Hospital.
The shooting happened at a home inside a subdivision on Holly Park Drive around 9:16 Thursday morning.
According to police, 44-year-old Jeaninne LePage shot her children and then turned the gun on herself, using a pillow to muffle the sound of the shots.
8-year-old Nadia Harriman and 14-year-old Nicholas Harriman were dead when police arrived on the scene.
11-year-old Alexander Harriman and LePage were rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
LePage succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.
Investigators, say all of the victims were found shot in the same bed in the mother's upstairs bedroom.
On Sunday night, there were prayers and candles at a vigil for the family.
"God we just come before you today, you know that all of us are hurting," prayed Pastor George Softly, Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
It was the second vigil at town hall since Thursday's tragic shooting. It was held hours after news that LePage had succumbed to her injuries.
"They're clinging on to each other. That's the reason a lot of them wanted to do another vigil tonight," said Pastor Softly.
Those in attendance at Sunday's vigil listened to poems and other words of comfort.
The violent tragedy has also impacted the children who went to school with the young victims.
Jennifer Quartarone, the PTA president, has been in contact with the family and read a statement on their behalf.
"Words cannot express our grief and we thank our Tabernacle community and the surrounding communities for understanding our need for privacy during this excruciatingly difficult time," said Quartarone.
