Decomposed body found inside Parkside home

PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after a body was discovered in a vacant home in the city's Parkside section.

The discovery was made around 3:40 p.m. Thursday in the area of 53rd and Jefferson streets.

Police say the severely decomposed body appears to have been there for several weeks, if not longer.

Investigators are still trying to determine the person's age, gender and how they died.
