Firefighter slips on ice battling house fire in Frankford

FRANKFORD -- A firefighter was injured after slipping on ice while battling a house blaze in the Frankford section of Philadelphia Monday night.

The fire happened around 9:45 p.m. on the 1400 block of Wakeling Street.

Firefighters arrived to the scene to find heavy flames inside a 3-story house.

It took about a half hour to get the blaze under control.

The injured firefighter was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

So far, there is no word on what sparked the blaze.
