LEVITTOWN, Pa. -- Police have safely resolved an incident that began Friday night after a man barricaded himself inside a home in Levittown, Bucks County.
Early Saturday morning, police took Lawrence Rouse into custody for a mental evaluation.
The incident began around 7:15 p.m. when the man's niece came into the police station to express concerns about her uncle's mental stability.
Rouse barricaded himself inside a home on Ice Pond Road with his critically ill 90-year-old mother.
Police say they arrived to the home but Rouse refused to come out and said he had weapons inside.
Swat teams arrived to the scene and ten hours later, Rouse was removed from the house.
His mother was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
