Tacony water main break shuts down road

TACONY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have closed off a street in the Tacony section due to a water main break.

The break occurred around 5:00 a.m. Sunday on State Road at Longshore Avenue.

A contractor working on construction on I-95 tells Action News a service line was struck.

The water department was called to cut off the water and begin repairs.

Action News is told the service line feeds one address in the area.

Commuters are asked to avoid this section of State Road while repairs are made.
