A teenage girl was struck by a car along Broad Street in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A teenage girl was struck by a car along Broad Street in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. Friday near West Oxford Street.

The victim, believed to be 14-years-old, was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital. Her injuries are believed to be serious, but non-life threatening.

The area between Oxford Street and Cecil B. Moore was shut down as the scene was cleared.

The striking vehicle did stop at the scene.

Police are investigating.
