VIDEO: Toddler seen wandering alone in Point Breeze

POINT BREEZE (WPVI) -- Surveillance video shows the first moments after a toddler wandered away from his babysitter on Thursday morning.

Philadelphia police are now trying to figure out exactly how he ventured out alone.

The video shows the small boy walking down the sidewalk in the Point Breeze section.

Neighbors in the area of 23rd and Mifflin found him and called police.

"He could say 'mommy' and 'daddy' but he couldn't tell us his mom's name or his name, so we just kept going through the blocks searching frantically," said Frazier Smith.

He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but did not appear to be injured.

They've since identified the child's mother.

Now authorities are working to find out exactly how managed to get away from his babysitter.
