Woman caught on camera stealing package from steps in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a woman who was caught on surveillance stealing a package from the front steps of a home in South Philadelphia.

The incident happened on November 14.

According to police, the US Postal Service delivered a package to a home on the 500 block of Reed Street at 4:05 p.m.

The package was left behind a storm door.

About 40 minutes later, a woman was caught on surveillance walking up to the home, looking around and stealing the package from behind the front door.

She can be seen casually walking away with the package in her hands and heading east on Reed Street towards 5th Street.

Police describe the thief as a white female with long, light brown hair and a medium build. She was wearing a brown jacket, tan pants and dark colored jeans.
