Police officer assaulted in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A police officer is recovering after being assaulted in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 10:00 a.m. Sunday at North 22nd and Somerset streets.

The officer whose name has not yet been released was taken to Temple University Hospital.

His injuries are non-life-threatening.

No further details have been released.
