SPRING GARDEN (WPVI) -- Two 9th District officers were taken to the hospital after an alleged assault outside a Philadelphia police station.
It was around 2:25 p.m. Thursday when officials say an officer standing outside the police district building at 400 North 20th Street in Spring Garden was approached by a man.
When the officer engaged the man in a conversation, the man told the officer he was there for him.
Police say the man then proceeded to punch the officer.
The officer then called for assistance.
Other officers came out to help.
At some point, the suspect allegedly bit another officer.
Officers eventually Tased the male.
The injured officers and the suspect were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.
It is not clear why the man allegedly assaulted the officer.
An investigation is ongoing.
