CHICAGO (WPVI) -- If you don't feel rested, refreshed and ready to face Monday morning, a new study says you're not alone.
The Energy Project is a consulting firm that works with employees and bosses to make workplaces better and more efficient and, hopefully, a little happier.
In a recent study of 20,000 employees in conjunction with the Harvard Business Review, they found most employers are trying to make humans function like machines.
Researchers say that isn't a viable strategy because unlike machines humans need to go back and forth between spending energy and renewing that energy.
More than half of workers in the study said they lack regular time for creative thinking, the ability to focus on one thing at a time, opportunities to do what they enjoy most and opportunities for learning and growth.
