Parking garage under demolition collapses in New York City
NEW YORK (WPVI) -- Investigators in New York City are trying to figure out what caused a parking garage under demolition to collapse.
The building crashed onto a school bus parked below.
The driver was napping behind the wheel and no kids were on board.
He woke up to see metal and debris piled all around him but was able to climb out on his own.
The collapse was so jarring, construction workers across the street thought a bomb went off.
"All of the sudden it was one big loud, like an explosion and it felt like an earthquake, the whole foundation I felt it shake," said construction worker Bill Jures.
One construction worker was hurt when he was on the third floor when the garage caved in but he escaped with just minor injuries.
No one else was seriously injured.
