Police ID a woman killed in an accident in Bensalem.

BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities have identified a woman who was struck and killed on Route 1 in Bensalem Wednesday morning.

The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Maria Feher of Philadelphia.

The accident happened just after 5:00 a.m. on Route 1 South just south of Old Lincoln Highway across from the Lincoln Motel and near a Wawa store.

Police say a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck struck Feher who was trying to cross Route 1 outside of a designed crosswalk.

The woman was killed on impact.

The pickup truck driver stopped after the accident was cooperated with investigators at the scene.

Police said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident.

At least one witness told investigators the victim may have been using a cell phone when she was struck. Police were working to confirm that account.

Investigators were asking anyone who saw the accident or events leading up it to call 215-633-3719.

Southbound Route 1 was shut down for several hours as police investigated.
