Woman, 91, struck by fire truck

EXETER TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- An elderly woman is hospitalized after being hit by a fire truck in Berks County.

The accident was reported Tuesday afternoon in Exeter Township outside the Berkshire Commons senior living community on the 5400 block of Perkiomen Avenue.

Officials say a 91-year-old woman was standing on the edge of a sidewalk when she lost her footing and fell into the path of a passing fire truck.

She is being treated at Reading Hospital. There is no word on her condition.

The fire truck was responding to an alarm at the senior community.
