SPRINGFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Six people were hurt, one fatally, when two vehicles collided head-on on Ridge Pike in Springfield Township, Montgomery County Sunday afternoon.
Police said it happened around 2:30 p.m. along the 9000 block of Ridge Pike.
Britney Hamilton, 25, of Norristown, was extricated from one of the cars and taken to Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia where she later died.
Police said Hamilton was a passenger in a gold Hyundai that was traveling westbound on Ridge Pike. A witness reported that the driver of the Hyundai attempted to make a U-turn when it was struck by a black Lincoln traveling the opposite direction.
The driver of the Hyundai and three children in the vehicle were all transported to hospitals. The driver of the Lincoln was also taken to the hospital. No word on their conditions.
