DELAWARE CITY, Delaware (WPVI) -- A Clydesdale horse was rescued after falling through the ice in a Delaware creek.

Rescue crews were called to the Cozy Quarter Farm in Delaware City in New Castle County Sunday morning.

They found that the horse, named Bubba, was having a hard time keeping its head above the water.

It took about an hour to pull the large animal out of the freezing water.

Once back on land, a veterinarian covered the horse with blankets and hay to increase the horse's core temperature.

After a half hour, Bubba was able to stand on his own again and was guided back to the stables.
