Surfer bit by shark near beach in Australia

A surfer is lucky to be alive after being attacked by a shark near a beach in Australia.

The shark took a big chunk out of the man's leg, requiring him to have surgery.

It also took a pretty decent bite out of his surfboard.

Police are using the bite marks from the board to help them determine what kind of shark did this.
