STAFFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- An Ocean County family has now been charged with the shooting of a pit bull found wandering Burlington County.
Action News first told you about this story in March.
The dog, nicknamed "Boss" by animal rescue, was discovered along Route 9 in New Gretna with a gunshot wound to its face.
Authorities say the dog's owner Anthony Sammarco Jr. and Sammarco's girlfriend Alexis Abbato, and Anthony Sammarch Sr. face various charges.
"Boss" has made a full recovery and will be available for adoption soon.
