1 dead after head-on crash in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured after a crash in Northeast Philadelphia.

The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 9100 block of Academy Road.

Police say one of the drivers, a 75-year-old man, crossed the center line and hit another car head-on.

That man was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

A 35-year-old woman is hospitalized in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation.

The names of those involved have not been released.
