Grenade found in Port Richmond walkway

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Residents in the Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood were on edge after a grenade was found Tuesday afternoon.

The grenade was found around 2:30 p.m. in a small walkway on the 3100 block of Tilton Street.

Neighbors told Action News when they discovered the device, they called 911 immediately.

The Philadelphia Police Bomb unit arrived and determined the grenade was inert and posed no danger.

Police are investigating.
