Philly father, son sentenced for insurance fraud

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A South Philadelphia father and son, at the center of a major insurance fraud case, have been sentenced.

Ronald Galati Sr. was given 14 and a half to 29 years behind bars.

His son, Ronald Galati Jr., was sentenced to nine to 23 months house arrest and eight years probation.

The Galatis own an auto body shop, American Collision.

They admitted to taking part in a wide-ranging scheme to unnecessarily repair Philadelphia city vehicles.

Both men will also have to pay nearly $2.5 million combined in restitution.
