Philadelphia Police Commissioner Outlaw among 4 injured in Center City crash

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw was injured after the vehicle she was riding in was hit by an Uber driver.

It happened just before 3 p.m. Wednesday at 15th and Race streets in Center City.

Police say the 42-year-old male Uber driver ran a red light and struck Outlaw's vehicle.

Outlaw and the officer who was driving the vehicle were taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Police say the Uber driver and his passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

"We are really thankful there aren't any serious injuries," said Corporal Jasmine Reilly with the Philadelphia Police Department.
