PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer has been arrested and charged with assaulting his girlfriend at their home.
41-year-old Michael Alice is charged with Simple Assault, Unlawful Restraint, False Imprisonment, and related offenses.
The incident happened back on May 24th.
Police say Alice and his girlfriend got into a verbal altercation that turned physical.
After an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued Thursday.
Alice, a 12-year veteran of the force, surrendered to the Internal Affairs Bureau where he was placed in custody.
Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey has suspended Alice for 30 days with intent to dismiss.
