Man in custody after barricade situation in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is in custody after a tense standoff involving police in West Philadelphia.

Around 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a report of a break-in at a residence along the 400 block of Sickels Street.

Upon arrival, gunshots were heard from inside the home and a barricade was declared.

The incident ended around 8 p.m.

Police said they recovered one assault weapon from the scene.

No injuries were reported.
