A ceremony was held Thursday night to illuminate the new granite markers at the memorial on Spruce Street at Columbus Boulevard.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial has reached a milestone in its $1 million "duty to remember" campaign.

To celebrate, a ceremony was held Thursday night to illuminate the new granite markers at the memorial on Spruce Street at Columbus Boulevard.

The event marked the final step of the restoration and redesign.

Many of those who donated to the fundraising effort were in attendance.
